GLOBAL WARMING

If anyone asks me what is the best thing about Bangalore, the first thing which I always say is “Bangalore has got a very nice weather.” But, it seems like this statement of mine is soon going to change, as Bangalore is getting hotter by the day.

I came to Bangalore in 2004 and from then till now there is roughly about 4-5 degrees of temperature change. I am sure the government is doing something about this but unfortunately that something is not enough. There is definitely a need to do more than what is being done.

I personally feel Metro is a great way to start but it needs to be efficient like most of the European countries and also Asian countries like china etc. If the Metro is efficient it will not only reduce the traffic above the ground but It will also reduce sound pollution, smoke, petrol consumption and will also contribute to the tackling of the global warming issue.

The government should also take initiatives for converting all the buses and autos running in diesel to CNG. Delhi’s is a much better place because of this step alone.

Bangalore has boulevards but that is not enough. More trees need to be planted especially the outer ring road areas. More parks should be introduced. Where I stay the government had allotted a piece of land as children’s park. In the name of park all that has been done is fencing the area and instead of children playing all I see is some cars and tractors parked there. The so-called park looks more like a waste land.

Before the global warming issue goes out of hand we should take steps to fight against it.

It may not feasible to ban the autos, probably CNG autos would be a better option.
